AI Stem Splitter FAQ
What are stems?+
Stems are the main groups of sounds inside a finished mix. Here they are the vocals, the drums, the bass and a fourth group for everything else, such as guitars, keys and synths. Splitting a song gives you each group as its own audio file, which is the starting point for practice, remixing and study.
What is the difference between two stems and four?+
Four stems give you vocals, drums, bass and other as separate files. Two stems give you the vocal and one instrumental file where the other three are combined. Choose two when you only want a karaoke track or an acapella, and four when you want to work with the rhythm section or the individual parts.
How good is the separation?+
It is good enough to practice, sample and study, but not perfect. Parts that share the same frequencies, such as a bass and a kick drum, can leak into each other a little, and effects like reverb can stay on the wrong stem. Clean mixes with clear parts separate best. Always listen before you rely on a stem.
What file types and lengths work?+
Upload an audio file up to 8 minutes long and 60 MB. The tool measures the real length of your file on our side, so the price on the run button matches what is charged. A video file is not accepted here, so export the audio first.
How much does it cost?+
The price depends on the length of the track, in a few steps, and shows before you run. Two stems and four stems cost the same for the same length. Credit packs are listed on the pricing page.
Do I need a subscription?+
Pay once with credit packs, or go monthly. Pack credits never expire. Failed runs are refunded. You can open an account for free and look at the tool before you buy credits.
