Can Gemini Edit make an image from text alone?+
No. It edits a photo you upload. For a picture from a prompt only, pick another image model in Generate.
How is this different from the AI image editor?+
Gemini Edit is one named model you pick in Generate and steer with a prompt. The AI image editor has dedicated tools such as upscaling and background changes.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You can pay as you go: credit packs are one-time purchases and their credits never expire. If you would rather have a steady supply, the monthly Starter ($7.99), Creator ($19) and Pro ($49) plans refill your credits each month, and you can cancel anytime. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
