Best AI tools to clone
a voice from a short sample in 2026
Five tools that turn a recording of one speaker into a voice you can type scripts into, side by side: how much audio each one needs, what it costs to start and what you get free. Facts are sourced from each vendor's own page, with the date we read it.

What to compare before you pick one
The same four questions apply to every tool on this page.
How much audio does it need?
Fish Audio and Cartesia list 10 seconds for an instant clone, Inflyu takes 10 to 60 seconds, and ElevenLabs says less than two minutes. Professional clones at ElevenLabs and Cartesia need much longer recordings.
Is cloning free?
It varies. Fish Audio lists cloning on its Free plan for personal use, Cartesia leaves it to paid plans, and Inflyu needs a credit pack for the clone itself. Read the free-tier column first.
Subscription or per clone?
ElevenLabs, Fish Audio, Descript and Cartesia sell monthly plans. Inflyu charges once per clone from a credit pack, with a monthly plan as an option.
Whose voice can you clone?
Your own, or one the speaker agreed to. ElevenLabs asks you to confirm consent before saving, Cartesia says to clone only a voice you have explicit permission to use, and Inflyu will not run a clone without the consent box ticked.
How cloning a voice works in Inflyu
Three steps, and you see the price before you spend a credit.
Record or upload a sample
Use 10 to 60 seconds of one speaker in a quiet room, with no music behind the voice.
Confirm consent and save
Tick the box that the voice is yours or the speaker agreed, name it and save it to My voices.
Type a script
Pick the clone next to the stock voices in text to speech or voiceover. The editor shows the credits before it runs.

Questions
What is an AI voice cloning tool?+
It builds a synthetic copy of a speaker from a recording, so you can type a script and hear it in that voice. Some tools need seconds of audio and others ask for half an hour or more for a higher-fidelity clone.
How much audio do I need to clone a voice?+
It depends on the tool. Fish Audio and Cartesia list 10 seconds for an instant clone, ElevenLabs says less than two minutes, and Inflyu takes 10 to 60 seconds from one speaker. A professional clone at ElevenLabs or Cartesia needs much more audio.
Which tool is best for cloning a voice?+
It depends on what you need. ElevenLabs offers both instant and professional clones, Fish Audio lists cloning on a Free plan, Descript puts the clone inside an editor, and Cartesia has the lowest paid entry. Inflyu charges once per clone. We make Inflyu, so check the linked vendor pages for the others.
How much does it cost to clone a voice with Inflyu?+
A clone is 38 credits ($4.01 at the Power pack rate), charged once per voice. A script in your cloned voice then costs 2 to 8 credits depending on length. The exact price shows on screen before anything runs.
Can I clone my voice with Inflyu for free?+
Setting up is free, the clone itself is not. A new Inflyu account gets 20 free credits once, no card required, and running a job needs a verified email. They do not cover a clone, which costs more than they hold, so you need a credit pack. The smallest pack, from $2.49, together with your unspent sign-up credits covers a clone.
Can I clone someone else’s voice?+
Only with their agreement. Inflyu asks you to confirm the voice is yours or that the speaker agreed, and the clone does not run without that box ticked. ElevenLabs and Cartesia state similar rules, and for the other tools read the vendor’s terms.
Do I need a subscription for Inflyu?+
No. Credit packs are one-time purchases that start at $2.49, and pack credits never expire. If you would rather refill each month, monthly plans exist too, and unused monthly credits do not roll over.
How current are the competitor prices on this page?+
Each competitor fact links to the vendor page it came from and shows the date it was read, most recently 1 Nov 2026. Plans and credits change often, so confirm on the vendor page before you pay. If a fact could not be confirmed on a vendor page, it is left out.
What does Inflyu not do well?+
A voice clone is never free: it needs a credit pack. Inflyu clones from a sample of 10 to 60 seconds, so there is no professional clone from hours of studio audio, and it does not promise an exact match to the original voice. The library holds up to 5 voices, and a voice that goes 7 days without a run expires and has to be cloned again.
