Is the AI Voice Clone really free?+
The account is free, the output is not. Signing up costs nothing and needs no card, so you can open the tool and set up a job, but a voice clone costs 32 credits, more than the 20 sign-up credits, so cloning needs a credit pack. Credit packs start at $1.99, are one-time and never expire. There is no subscription.
Why do the sign-up credits not cover a clone?+
A clone costs 32 credits and a free account starts with 20. The sign-up credits do cover text to speech and voiceovers in the stock voices, so you can test your scripts before you buy a pack.
Can I clone someone else's voice?+
Only with their permission. You confirm the voice is yours or that the speaker agreed before the clone is made. If you are not sure you have that right, do not clone the voice.
Where can I use a voice saved in My voices?+
In text to speech and in voiceover over a clip or an audio file, both in the Audio Editor. A dub in Translate keeps the original speaker's voice, and Creative Studio Voiceover uses stock voices only.
How long does a cloned voice last?+
A voice that goes unused for 7 days expires, and every run with it resets that clock. An expired voice has to be cloned again at the same price, and it keeps its library slot until you delete it.
What if the clone fails?+
The credits are refunded automatically. A quieter recording of one speaker, with no music behind it, usually clones better on the next attempt.
Do I need a subscription?+
No. You can pay as you go: credit packs are one-time purchases and their credits never expire. If you would rather have a steady supply, the monthly Starter ($7.99), Creator ($19) and Pro ($49) plans refill your credits each month, and you can cancel anytime. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
