Change one thing per version
When an ad works, the next question is why. Was it the product, the person, the place or the first line? If a new version changes all four, a better result tells you nothing you can reuse. Change one variable per version and keep the rest identical, and each result answers one question.
Inflyu makes that practical because the edits work on the ad you already have. The video ad variations page sums up the tools; this guide is the plan.
The four variables you can change
The angle and the hook. The reason to care, said in the first seconds. The Ad Copilot reads a product link and writes five ad angles for 1 credits, then makes one new ad per angle you tick. Use it when you want new ideas rather than edits.
The product. A different colour, item or bundle in the same clip. An object swap edits the clip shot by shot from a photo or a description, starting at 12 credits for 4s, 17 for 6s, 22 for 8s and 40 for 15s.
The presenter. A different person in the same performance. A person swap works from a photo or a description and keeps the motion, at a flat 14 credits for 4s, 20 for 6s, 25 for 8s and 46 for 15s. Paid accounts get Recast by default, which keeps the original video and changes only the people you pick. See AI video swap.
The setting. The same ad in a kitchen, a gym or a street. A background swap replaces the place around the product and person, edited shot by shot, from a photo or a description. See AI video background swap.
A simple first round
Start with one ad that already works and one question. A first round might be:
- The original ad, unchanged, as the control.
- Three versions that change only the setting.
- Two versions that change only the presenter.
On an 8 second clip with a single shot, that round costs at least 116 credits: three background swaps from 22 credits each and two person swaps at 25 credits each. This is an example of the arithmetic, not a quote. Clips with more shots cost more, and the editor shows the exact price of every run before you start.
Budget before you run
Add up the round before you spend anything. Every run shows its credits before you confirm, a failed run is refunded, and pack credits never expire, so a pack bought for one round carries over to the next. Credit packs start at $1.99; the full list is on the pricing page.
Name the files so the results make sense
A test is only as good as its labels. Name each export with the product, the variable and the value, for example serum_setting_kitchen_v1 or serum_presenter_b_v1, and use the same names in your ad platform. When the results come back, you can read the answer from the file name without opening the video.
Keep the comparison fair
Give each version the same audience, the same budget and the same time window, and change nothing else while the test runs. Swaps keep the cuts and timing of the original, so the hook lands at the same second in every version. Let each version run long enough to collect a meaningful number of results before you pick one. Then take the winner as the new control and test the next variable.
Rights, consent and disclosure
Only edit ads you have the rights to. For a presenter swap, use a person who agreed or a generated person, never a real person who did not consent. A swapped ad is AI-edited content: disclose it where the law or the platform requires it.
When there is no winning ad yet
If you have no video that performs, start from the product. Hero Shot turns one product photo into a 6 or 8 second ad from 20 credits, and the Ad Copilot gives you five angles to start the first round.
